SMOKE AND JOE CIGAR LOUNGE

DON’TS - CRAFTING A REFINED LOUNGE EXPERIENCE:

Support The Lounge:

In this haven of indulgence, refrain from bringing your own cigars. If we see you light up a cigar not purchased here, we are going to ask to go buy another and smoke our cigar. Don’t relight yours. No exceptions! Just as you wouldn't BYO steak to a steakhouse, support the lounge by purchasing their exquisite offerings. This includes beverages if your lounge has them for purchase and you want something to wet your whistle. And remember, once a cigar leaves the store it’s like takeout food. You don't come back with it expecting a seat.

Silence Is Golden:

The lounge is your haven for relaxation and camaraderie. Keep phone conversations private; no speakerphones allowed. If a call beckons, step outside or clearly away of others for courtesy.

Language Matters:

Political talk, salty language, profanity, and just being plain loud interrupting other guests experience doesn’t belong. This ones pretty straight forward,

Keep The Feet Covered:

You’re not going to kick the shoes or sandals off sitting at an Outback Steak House or one of Gordon Ramsay’s finest restaurants. So don’t do it in a lounge. The shoes and sandals remain on your feet.  There‘s no debating.

Mindful Smoking:

While the aroma of cigars is expected, avoid consistently blowing smoke in others' faces. If space constraints make it tricky, make an effort to direct smoke away from fellow patrons.

Respect Cigar Ownership:

A lit cigar is a personal journey; avoid asking to try someone else's. If curiosity strikes, engage in conversation or seek guidance from a shop assistant.

Curb Mooching:

Sharing accessories is common, but asking for cigars is a faux pas. Respect the investment others have made in their cigar choices.

Ash Not Trash:

The ashtray is for just as is sounds, ash. The cellophane and cigar bands are trash and don’t belong. The only exception is the butt of your cigar you simply drop in the bowl when you’re done. Your gum? Don’t do it!

Gentle Goodbye:

When done with your cigar, hold it momentarily; avoid smashing it in the ashtray. A graceful finish preserves the lounge's ambiance and respect for fellow enthusiasts. Plus when you smash it smells horrible.

Taste Diversity:

Appreciate the vast world of cigars; avoid passing judgment on others' choices. Each aficionado has unique preferences – celebrate the diversity.

DO’S - ELEVATING YOUR CIGAR LOUNGE RITUAL:

BYO Cutter & Lighter:

Ensure a pristine cut by bringing your own cutter. It's a simple yet impactful accessory that sets you apart as a discerning cigar enthusiast. Lounge lighters? They are not YOUR lighter. Don’t hog it like you own it. You enjoy cigars. Have the tools you need.

Masterful Cut & Light:

The art of cutting and lighting is essential. Familiarize yourself with the PROPER way to cut and light a cigar to ensure the best experience, so you don’t make the lounge smell like a burn pit in Iraq.

Spotless Ambience:

Be mindful of your surroundings; avoid spills and clean up after yourself. A neat space ensures a comfortable environment for all. Staff is not your maid. The astray and our empty glasses? No problem. Your broken peanut shells, gum wrappers and dip can? Be an adult and clean it up!

Welcome New Faces:

Embrace the community spirit; extend a warm welcome to newcomers. Your friendly gesture can make their first visit memorable.

Polite Engagements:

Approach groups politely; ask to join conversations but respect others' preferences. Some cherish solitude in the midst of the communal ambiance.

Pure Enjoyment:

Remember, a cigar lounge is your escape. Relish the moment, savor each puff, and let the atmosphere enhance your overall experience.

HUMIDOR ETIQUETTE - PRESERVING CIGAR INTEGRITY:

No Smoking In The Humidor:

Preserve the natural aroma of the walk-in humidor. Lit cigars can disrupt this delicate balance, affecting the flavors of stored cigars.

Handle With Respect:

Treat cigars as you would delicate food. Clean hands are a must when touching cigars; use designated areas for holding to minimize contamination.

Aromatic Exploration:

Smelling cigars is part of the joy. Keep it sanitary; maintain a distance when appreciating the aroma, preventing any germs from affecting the cigars. Shove a cigar up your nose to smell it? You just bought it.

Damage Prevention:

Retailers invest in quality control, but mishandling is a challenge. Be cautious with cigars – no drumming, reckless tossing, or excessive squeezing. Damage the cigar and you just bought it. No exceptions.

Thoughtful Returns:

Decided against a purchase? If handled properly, return it to the humidor with care. Maintain the integrity of the cigars, but remember, once it leaves the store, it stays sold.
