Ultra-Premium, Ultra-Smooth, Ultra-Delicious….

Ultra-Premium, Ultra-Smooth, Ultra-Delicious….

Today we introduce the most premium regular production cigar to date from Rocky Patel. Featuring a silky smooth, golden brown Connecticut Shade wrapper, coming dressed in an elegant white and rose gold band and packaged in an even more elegant white and rose gold box, this cigar is meant to be for those looking to be part of the “ultra” cigar smoking experience.

Now with every cigar that is presented to the public, companies have to make sure the cigar name and branding doesn’t go against any others that already exist. Take Arturo Fuente for example. When any brand or manufacturer put out a new cigar or redesigns a band on a current one, Fuente likes to go straight for the throat if a band has a “X” on it that even remotely looks something like that on their Opus X line. Truth be told you’d have to be drunk and smoking something other than premium cigars to try to see what their fight is about with some of the accusations they’ve made, but thats a whole different topic.

On April 20, 2021 the trademark for Rocky Patel’s “White Label” was published for opposition, seemingly clearing the way for it to introduce a cigar that was probably about to irk a number of companies.   This release from Rocky Patel seems to target two main types of cigar smokers. You have those that say “I only smoke Davidoff” (yep they exist) and the those who enjoy the Montecristo White Series. That’s not to say those that just want to experience an ultra-premium cigar can’t kick back and light up what we are experiencing at this very moment while typing this.

The Rocky Patel White Label consists of a Connecticut Shade Wrapper over Nicaraguan Binders and filler tobaccos from Honduras and Nicaragua. Of course in Rocky fashion, an undisclosed secret ingredient exist in the blend. This cigar is made up with of some of the longest aged tobaccos on the market today, each cigar featuring a blend that has been aged for 10 years before being rolled, and stored away for an additional 2 years after so your smoking experience is truly “ultra-premium”. Each cigar comes with an obvious triple cap that’s applied at the head of the cigar to ensure no unraveling while you’re smoking (for those that cut a cigar properly that is).

Ultra-Premium, Ultra-Smooth, Ultra-Delicious….

Cut & Cold Draw:

The foot gives off of mild aroma of peanuts and barnyard hay, with after a proper cut, the cold draw provides a mixture of nuts, white pepper, vanilla and a touch of light cream.

Light It Up:

This cigar BEGS to be properly lit. NOT RUSHED. Don’t take your four burner torch to this cigar and just turn it up to “flamethrower mode”, scorching the fine tobaccos and leaving black soot all over the exterior of this fine stick. Take your tame, toast it, relax, experience it.   So now that you’ve got your cigar going, enjoy that first puff. Throughout this cigar we find a mixture of cream, vanilla notes, white chocolate, white pepper and some barnyard hay. The blend leaves a little bit of tartness after each puff, but nothing that other cigars don’t do depending on how developed your palate is. Smooth and creamy, I find myself paying attention the the retrohale that gives a sourdough bread sensation. Even forcing a retrohale doesn’t water up the eyes like something from the dark side would.

Thoughts:

Comparing this cigars initial possible target audience, let me be honest and start by saying the Montecristo White Series does absolutely nothing for me.  That doesn’t mean to say it’s not a good cigar, but doesn’t have enough in the flavor department and the construction in my opinion isn’t; worth the price you’re paying for each of these cigars. Trade that out now for this Rocky Patel White Label and this is a Connecticut that I can say is worth it dollars and definitely a GIANT step in Rocky Patel‘s line of cigars to compete in the “ultra-premium” department.   This White Label is certainly part of todays “new age“ of Connecticuts. Not a weakling in the flavor or body department, both medium body and definitely a solid medium in strength, so don’t be fooled by its soft golden brown color. If your one to suck down a cigar and not enjoy the experience, this cigar is not for you. Now if you like to actually enjoy your cigar, enjoy the moment, enjoy the experience and relax and let your troubles disappear like the soft cloud of smoke that dissipate around you do, then this cigar is ready for your enjoyment.
